Desperate people frantically trying to raise more money from their subjugated followers who apparently already give quite a bit of money, in support of a morally bankrupt man and a morally bankrupt organization. It seems that the money pot from the public is drying up, and so Shambhala is forced to squeeze the dwindling stock of students.

No doubt the ’20 new Jewel Patrons since January 1″ is a lie, and meant to entice people in thinking that some have already committed to this farce so that they join in. I’m sure NO ONE has committed to joining this rarefied sucked-dry group, as “a Jewel Patron is donation is a heart contribution you are willing and able to make above and beyond your current giving commitments...’

“Communal child sexual abuse in Shambhala – like father, like son, and the others?”

 

This new article just came up today and I felt I should share it. It is written by Leslie Hays, one of Chogyam Trungpa’s seven concubine wives. It concerns a lady named Ciel who was his head concubine (or sangyum, as they called them).

Chogyam Trungpa founded Shambhala in the ’70’s and it has had a checkered history to say the least. Pema Chodron is perhaps its most famous student but even recently she has disgraced herself as I discuss here elsewhere.  Trungpa’s son Mipham now appears to be a poison apple which fell not too far from the tree.

This is a profoundly tragic and shocking tale. It involves the child sexual abuse, associated drug abuse and suicide of a woman who was literally passed around the Shambhala leaders in the 80’s and 90’s as a sex slave, beginning at age 14. Her association with the Shambahala leaders continued until her death 20 years later. One of these leaders, Mitchell Levy retains a very senior leadership role in the organisation. In 2018 he recused himself from discussing the current crisis as a member of the (now resigned in disgrace) Kalapa Council on account of these allegations of his sexual misconduct having been known for years.

The current crisis centres around a litany of allegations of sexual misconduct on the part of Mipham. More broadly it involves abuse of power leading to the routine, systemic cover up of criminal behaviour while rationalising it with buddhist philosophy.

By Trungpa’s design, Ciel was in line to marry the currently disgraced leader of Shambhala who is or has been known generally as Osel Tenzin / Mipham Mukpo / The Sakyong. He and Ciel had an intimate involvement which did not end well. He rejected her cruelly, much like he has done with his many other women. This appears to have greatly fuelled Ciel’s tragic confusion and ultimate demise into suicide. It is said that when Mipham married in 2006, the entire Sangha breathed a sigh of relief as they no longer had to live in the tension of worrying about a sexual misconduct scandal erupting at any moment. 
 
His behaviour towards Ciel is indicative of who this Sakyong character really is, today, right now, as he privately runs programmes which invite his students to venerate him, while publicly playing the role of a leader respectfully resigned pending the outcome of an investigation, ordered by and reporting to his own lawyers it turns out. Ciel’s experience (as far as we can understand it at this point) contains all of the trigger signs of a cult, and the denial of criminal wrongdoing which is currently blatant in Shambhala’s panicked Adminstrators.

In fact, Mitchell Levy didn’t even go to Ciel’s funeral despite having carried on an openly unapologetic affair with her for years while she was considerably younger than he, and having shared a house with her and his own wife. At the time, he was heard saying that he had nothing to do with her death, although her suicide note is widely reported to  dispute this. My former boss, Jesse Grimes apparently has the note buried under some rug.

Mitchell in turn had for years been carrying on an affair with Trungpa’s legal wife, Diana (whom Trungpa married when she turned 16) and whom Mitchell then married after Trungpa’s death, at the time Ciel moved in with him and Diana. The constantly shifting intimacies clearly proved emotionally fatal for Ciel simultaneous with Shambhala blindly claiming to be establishing enlightened society. That was 25 years ago and still, nothing has significantly changed.

I first met Ciel when she was 16-years old. I didn’t know her well and I viewed her as a bit of a rival. Ciel was the sort of girl who would steal your boyfriend. I didn’t really get to know her well until the summer of 1985, when she was 17 and I was 24, at what was then called rocky mountain dharma center.

In 1984, after his retreat in Mill Village, which John Perks wrote about in his book, Chogyam Trungpa (CT) decided to marry some more women. To his devotees, this decision came directly from the Rigdens, who were these supposed ‘heavenly beings’ who sat around in the clouds above outer Mongolia and directed the actions of the self-proclaimed universal monarch. Apparently they had nothing better to do than watch the sangha and tell his majesty what strategic moves he should make in his efforts to take over the world. At first, the Rigdens said he should take three more wives, so in order of weddings that would have been Karen Lavin, Cynde Greives, and Wendy Friedman.

But as time passed they upped the number to five. That’s when I met him. I was number five and I was groomed to be attractive to him by the father of the children I nannied for. During the summer of 1985, after our wedding, CT apparently fell in love with Ciel, and she became number 6. Agnes Au followed about four or five months later, I think, bringing the total number of wives to 7. But just to be on the safe side, they had 250 copies of the marriage licenses made.

I need to say here that Ciel first slept with CT when she was very young, 13 or 14 years old. Of course people will deny this but it is the truth. She told me herself. I doubt anyone out there has the guts to back me up on this, however. Most still want to believe he was omniscient and powerful and not some pervy, rapey asshole who preyed on children. If your daughter was sleeping with the king of the universe at that age, would that be OK? The universal monarch who is in touch with heavenly beings daily decided that he loved Ciel, and it did appear that he loved her very much. He and the rest of them loved her to death.

In fact he made her the “Sangyum Wangmo” meaning the head of the Sangyum. Then she became the Sakyong Wangmo 2. This meant she sat in front of all of us. Previously, we sat in order of weddings, with Karen closest to CT. We occupied the front row of the court section at talks. And CT’s special attention further isolated Ciel from the rest of us. While she might have been able to share with her sister wives certain things, the pressure to be number one in all actions must have been intense. The secrets she held were way too much, in my opinion, for an 18 year old who was handed over to the king of the universe and groomed since birth to marry him. CT was not the only powerful man to reach out to Ciel–her love affair with Mitchell Levy began when she was 16. WE ALL KNEW-JESUS CHRIST WE ALL KNEW. Mitchell’s still in charge of a large part of the cult and he’s actively advocating for teaching positions in Europe and beyond, where perhaps he hopes no one knows the truth about his character. All narcissists hate to be ignored.

Ciel married CT on her 18th birthday. I was at the wedding, as were the other wives, and I remember her parents brought Polish caviar and vodka, or maybe it was champagne. Her father made a toast, saying he gave his daughter to CT completely, that he trusted him with all of his heart and soul, and that he was honoured to become part of the family, or something similar. CT toasted him back as his father in law and thanked him for his kindness or generosity or something. (Folks can you imagine?) The wedding was a very big deal that summer. Of course, only people who had attended Assembly were invited to this event. Seating was as always, highly regulated. The Sangyum sat in the front row of the court section, ladies on one side and men on the other. Assembly was the program where he talked about taking over the city of Halifax and the province of nova scotia by force, but there would be only limited bloodshed. So it was about the “Kingdom of Shambhala” taking over the world. And don’t forget it was all backed up by the Rigdens.

I think this was a lot of pressure for Ciel, who was the youngest sangyum. She took her seat bravely. Everyone talked about how beautiful she was, and how much CT loved her. Oh, she was elegant and sophisticated and breathtakingly beautiful. Always, when Ciel was mentioned, her beauty was touted, as if she had very little value outside of that.

After Seminary, Ciel and I were sent to Karme Choling to finish our ngondro. CT gave a talk that year, on Shambhala Day, about jumping the gun. His “talk” consisted of very few words, something to the effect of: “You know what you have to do, so do it! Jump the gun.” this was in February or march of 1986. This was a very celebratory day at KCL and of course plenty of sake was served. There were a number of us young people there–Liz, Kier, Ciel, myself and others–and after we got properly inebriated, we put on our skates and headed to the small pond in front of KCL for some skating. We enjoyed doing crack the whip, where we all held hands in a line and spun the person on the end out by spinning in a tight circle. But when Ciel was on the end, we whipped her too fast, and she badly broke her leg. This was the year and the very day CT told us we knew what we had to do, so just do it, jump the gun. Ciel suffered with the impacts of that badly broken leg for the rest of her life. Apparently, the doctors in St. Johnsbury Vermont didn’t set it properly, and years later she had to have it rebroken, which didn’t really fix the problem at all and made it worse. Both of these surgeries required strong narcotics, for an extended amount of time.

As you read this, please try to remember that all of this happened over 30 years ago, and my memory isn’t perfect, especially with the exact time line and order of these events. My brain seems to capture and remember events more than timelines. But I think that after Ciel broke her leg she went back to Boulder to be with her parents to heal. When CT died on April 4th, 1987, all the sangyum flew to Halifax. I flew in from Vermont two days before he expired. I remember seeing CT curled up in a fetal position in his hospital bed at the Infirmary in Halifax. I remember crying a lot with the other sangyum. I remember seeing Diana at his bedside. I had written her a letter saying I felt like I fucked up on a cosmic level, because CT had not really wanted to see me towards the end of his life. Diana took me aside and told me she didn’t think I should be so hard on myself. He’d married me, after all. I cried tears of gratitude. CT died around the time Ciel’s plane touched down at the Halifax airport.

Then the funeral was planned. The body was broken and cut and forced into a seated position and put on display in the front sitting room of the court in Halifax. People were scheduled to do mediation shifts with the body, and it was always packed with worshippers. I will never forget the stench of strong Tibetan incense and decay. It was chokingly overwhelming. Mitchell said his heart center stayed warm for three days, but I wasn’t allowed to get close enough to see if this was true.

The funeral would take place at Karme Choling, St. Johnsbury (KCL) and it would be a grand display, with visits from many senior Tibetan teachers arranged by Karl Springer. We chartered a plane and CT’s body occupied first class. Seats were removed to bring him in. The plane ride is a blur. Some people bought seats who lived in Halifax, but the Sangyum flew for free.

Everyone who was anyone was there at KCL when the body was brought back from the airport. The seven of us sangyum stayed in a rented bed and breakfast fairly close to KCL with a very nice gay couple who hosted us. Tom Rich and his followers rented a large house and named it Shangri-la. Shibata Sensei and Marcia and crew stayed in a smaller rented house. The hotel which later became known as Ashoka Bhavan (or some such) in Vermont was rented and filled to capacity with monks. Diana and her crew stayed at Bhumi Pali Bahvana which was a farm house with a barn that was purchased for her. After CT died, Tagi lived there for a short while. I don’t remember where the current sock yarn stayed, which means I probably wasn’t invited to any parties there. And it possible they bought the hotel for the visit. Eventually it became part of KCL. Dilgo Khentse took over the top floor of Karme Choling, which had previously been the shambhala shrine room. Many of the other rooms on the second floor of KCL were double or triple occupied by his monks. Lot’s of people stayed in tents on the way up to where the body would be burned in the purkhong the second field. Flags were put up, a round the clock sewing crew was established and set up in the KCL barn as all of the banners and flags and skirts that covered the shrines needed to be created. Reams of fabric were purchased. A purkong in which to cremate the remains was built. Every square inch was filled to capacity and beyond. The body was closely guarded in the main shrine room-salts were changed once or twice daily but they couldn’t mask the stench of decay.

After the funeral, Ciel moved in with the Mukpos in the court in Halifax, under the same roof as Mitchell and Diana. Ciel and Mitchell carried on with their sexual affair there and Ciel and I lost touch for a while. Mitchell was also having sex with a number of other women and girls at the same time. Basically, sex was everywhere, and Ciel was a much prized commodity. But she wasn’t really valued for who she really was, in my opinion. She used to be a runner, and she would regularly run up Flagstaff mountain. She once met a famous runner there, but I can’t remember which one. She was pretty healthy, I thought. But after she broke her leg, running was too painful-another loss suffered from being part of the cult.

So Ciel moved with Mitchell and Diana to Hawaii, after they embezzled a couple hundred thousand dollars from the sangha to buy a new court in Halifax. In fact they took the money, didn’t buy a new court in Halifax, sold the old one, and moved to Hawaii in the middle of the night. (Maybe the old one was too stinky for them.) Mitchell, Diana, Ashoka and David moved with Ciel and her BFF at the time to Hawaii. They left Gesar homeless in Halifax. Some claim Diana knew about the affair with Mitchell all along, and some claim when she learned of their long “love affair,” which was really molestation as it began when Ciel was 16, she was shocked and appalled and kicked Ciel out of the court.

Eventually, after Mitchell and Di and the rest moved to providence, Ri, Ciel fell in love with a normal man about her same age and social status named Craig. She got a job at Victoria Secret. Like Wendy and other girls in the community, college didn’t hold their interest as much as creating enlightened society. She got a brief breath of the air outside of Shambhala. They married and lived in Maine together, eventually moving to Halifax to live in the basement of her parent’s house. And for a brief moment in time she was happy. Then Craig died of a brain tumor, and she began to unravel. Her doctor prescribed many drugs for her (probably too many) to help with her grief. She began self medicating, drinking too much, and she crept into herself deeper and deeper.

Ciel eventually moved back to Boulder (her parents as well) and we attempted to restart our friendship. She began seeing Fleet Maull. She liked to take her top off and dance in her bra at parties. Fleet and her broke up, and she began seeing Leonard Hortick who had three small girls and was divorced from his first wife due to her substance abuse issues. Eventually, they broke up as well after Ciel went into a neighbors house and began raging at them, claiming it was her house, or something like that. Whatever happened, it was clear she was loosing her grip on reality. The neighbors called the police.

In the final sad chapter, she ended up dating Don Milani, one of Tom Rich’s straight boys. Something happened between them that was related to domestic violence, but I am not sure exactly what. Ciel claimed Don pushed her down the stairs and pulled a knife on her. Don claimed she got to his house and downed an entire bottle of sake and he called 911 on her. Ciel claimed she called 911.

She continued to get lost in her addictions, and called the detective on the case extremely wasted at 2 am one morning. I think at that point the detectives gave up working on the case. And Ciel was outraged. She began calling Don at all hours of the night and day and threatening suicide. Once Don called me, sincerely worried that she was going to follow through with the act. He asked me to phone her parents and have them check on her. So about six weeks or so before Ciel died I phoned Ludwig and told him about the call from Don.

Ludwig was at first pretty pissed off at me for speaking to Don at all, but a few days later he phoned me to tell me I had done the right thing in phoning him. I stressed that it might be important to hospitalize Ciel and help her with her addictions. I got the impression that Ciel was too sacred for this path to possible treatment. And six weeks later she was dead due to an overdose of pills and alcohol.

I was shocked, we all were, and it was a deeply sad time for so many of us. Word quickly spread that Ciel had left a note and that I was in it, along with Denise (Don’s ex wife) Don, and a few others. My understanding was she somehow blamed me for her death. I got a call from Mark Thorpe who told me the family didn’t want me to attend the funeral. I took it in stride and said, “whatever they need to get through this horrible time is ok with me. If it’s too painful for them to see me, of course I won’t attend.”

When her parents discovered her body, she was dressed in the silk pajamas CT gave her. They then phoned Jesse Grimes, who was a paramedic working for Boulder Valley. Jesse responded to the call. Jesse saw the note, Jesse saw the pills, Jesse saw the empty bottle of vodka, Jesse saw the grieving family. And as usual, Jesse kept his mouth shut about it all in favor of whitewashing the real history of this cult for public consumption.

Jesse saw  Osel Mukpo treat Ciel like a piece of meat. There was brief talk Osel and Ciel would marry, this was why CT had put her on that huge unattainable pedestal, this was why he had made her Sakyong Wangmo II. Many, including Ciel, believed strongly they would marry, as he wrote poems to her and and acted loving and caring towards her. Then he dumped her like a hot potato. He had his staff refuse her calls (Mark Thorpe and others, you KNOW this, where’s your spine?). Osel refused to see her, he refused to talk with her, and he callously and unceremoniously broke her already repeatedly broken heart.

So look around in this sham of a community. There are people who worship Osel regardless, in spite of, or perhaps BECAUSE OF the way he treats women. But I truly believe it’s not just women he mistreats. If you are a man and you think you’re important to him, fuck off, because like everyone else you are completely disposable and really not worthy of a second thought. This is what happens when you make malignant narcissists cult leaders and give them absolute control and ownership over vulnerable people through brainwashing techniques. This is what happens when you believe some made up (or pilfered from other traditions) visualizations or practices with a sociopath at the center.

I miss Ciel, Kier, and Bill [*] I truly believe if they had gotten help outside of this toxic soup, Bill and Ciel might still be alive today. Hopefully they would find that the air out here is fresher. The stench of decay isn’t so strong, and the people are much, much kinder. They know better than to ask survivors to heal a community or forgive their abusers for the sake of the organization which victimized them in the first place. They aren’t impressed with titles and pomp and circumstance. They’re just real people who don’t believe in fairy tales, generally.

I write this with love, to anyone who is struggling with these issues, seek therapy outside of sham.

India requests Karmapa to return, flags his Dominican Republic passport

  • (In January of 2000, Orgyen Trinley Dorje arrived in India from Tibet/China, calling himself a refugee. Dorje was issued a Residential Certificate (RC), as a Tibetan refugee, by the Indian government, and he settled at the Dalai Lama’s Gyuto Tantric Monastic University, in Dharamsala, India. Because he was rumored to be a spy for the Chinese (the circumstances of his fleeing Tibet/China were suspicious, and never fully explained), Dorje was severely restricted in his travels for years by the Indian government.
  • To thwart the travel restrictions imposed upon him by the Indian government, Orgyen Trinley Dorje not long ago bought a passport from The Dominican Republic.)

Dorje, the 17th Karmapa, has laid down conditions for his return to India, including withdrawal of travel restrictions and requirement for him to get permission from New Delhi to travel abroad.

While the Central government is trying to get Tibetan spiritual leader Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje to return from the United States, Indian agencies have flagged the fact that he possesses a Dominican Republic passport and indicated that it was a reason behind the move to remove him from security watch-list.

Dorje, the 17th Karmapa, has laid down conditions for his return to India, including withdrawal of travel restrictions and requirement for him to get permission from New Delhi to travel abroad.

“The government has asked the Karmapa to return…he has conveyed that he will come back in November,” a source in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said on Wednesday.

The Karmapa, the source said, is upset that he has to take permission every time he wants to travel, unlike the Dalai Lama, who is free to travel anywhere without restriction.

The Dominican Republic passport offers individuals and families worldwide an irrevocable second citizenship and passport in four to six months, with no visit to the country required. A passport from the Caribbean island-nation also provides visa-free or visa on arrival access to more than 115 countries, including the entire European Union, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Officials said Dorje got Dominican Republic passport since many countries do not recognize the Residential Certificate (RC) issued by India to Tibetan refugees.

In 2015, the Narendra Modi government reviewed the earlier Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) decision and eased domestic travel restrictions for Dorje, allowing him to visit Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, except Rumtek monastery.

Former adviser on Tibetan affairs to MHA Amitabh Mathur had told The Indian Express last month that India “does not doubt 17th Karmapa commitment to Tibetan civilisation’s struggle and he is the future face of Tibetan Buddhism.”

Sources in MHA confirmed that India has formally requested Dorje to return to India, as desired by his followers.

The CCS, headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has decided to allot land to Dorje in Delhi to construct his monastery. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, who is also chairman of the Delhi Development Authority, is scouting for land and is expected to decide on one soon, an official said.

Dorje had escaped to India through Nepal in 2000, at the age of 14. The Sikkim government has written to the Centre on multiple occasions and requested that Dorje be allowed to make his claim as the 17th Karmapa. The Centre has not taken a decision yet, contending that the matter is pending before courts.”

Shambhala Mtn Center investigated for child rape

Apparently the investigation by the Larimer Sheriff’s department into Shambhala Mountain Center, in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, is for Mipham Sakyong’s, and others at Shambhala, ‘alleged sexual contact with minors’ (in normal language: rape of children).

“Retired attorney Carol Merchasin, one of the Buddhist Project Sunshine  report’s collaborators, told The Denver Post that Larimer County Sheriff’s Office investigators interviewed her twice, first contacting her in November. She said the questions they had were about alleged sexual contact with minors.”

 The rape and exploitation of children in Tibetan Vajrayana centers in America has now reached into the third generation. The children and grandchildren of the men and women who originally devoted themselves to Tibetan lamas in the 1960’s and 1970’s and who were engulfed into the ‘sanghas’, have been harmed by growing up in these communities. The morals and critical thinking of the Western parents and grandparents were gradually subsumed into the ‘no right, no wrong, no good, no bad’ underpinning of the Vajrayana practices of the Tibetan lamas. Hard on the heels of the ‘sexual revolution’ of the sixties, the spiritually-deficient women and men were seduced by the sexual attentions of the Tantric sex practitioners. Many allowed their children to become prey to the practitioners, or chose to look the other way. Many parents, if they objected to the rape of their children, were paid off and slunk off into the shadows.

Many male practitioners of Tibetan Lamaism, Tibetan and Western, can be considered MAPS (Minor Attracted Persons). As is well-documented, Tibetan Lamaism is founded on the Tantric sex practices of Hinduism. In the ancient texts (still in wide use today), sex with girls under the age of 13 is recommended for the ascension to enlightenment by males. Females, according to Tibetan Lamaism, do not achieve enlightenment, and must continually strive to purify their bad ‘karma’ for lifetimes so that they could be reborn a male. But not just to be reborn a male, but to acquire the ‘good karma’ for the rare and desired ‘privilege’ to be reborn a Tibetan lama. Only Tibetan lamas have the good ‘karma’ to be taught the practices that will enable them to achieve ‘enlightenment’.

Spiritual Warfare to Heal the Intimate Wounds of Spiritual Sexual Abuse

Our heavenly Father has appointed my husband and myself to pray intercessory prayers for you, we did not choose this, but He chose it for us.

In obedience to Him, we pray this intercessory prayer, according to His perfect will, His plan and purpose, for you, the reader, that His will may be fulfilled.

Father, I come before you in Yeshua’s Mighty Name, and I thank you and I praise you for giving me all power and authority over all demons. I cover myself, and everyone in agreement with this prayer, in the precious blood of Yeshua. I cover every one of my family members and the family members of everyone in agreement with this prayer, in the blood of Yeshua. I thank you, Heavenly Father, for your warrior angels that are surrounding each one of us, eternally protecting us from all harm of the enemy.

I take my superior authority, and I attack from the third Heaven, and I bind the strongman over our minds, our wills, our emotions, and over our homes, in Yeshua’s Name.

I command you to leave these areas now in Yeshua’s Mighty Name. I bind up every demon that was sent to any of us, transferred to any of us, assigned to any of us or followed any of us, and I command you to come out, come out of all parts of our conscious, subconscious, unconscious minds, come out of all parts of our bodies, our wills, our emotions, our personalities, and our identities in Yeshua Ha Mashiac.

This intercessory prayer is for the women who had been unwilling sexual consorts to Tibetan lamas, enchanted, coerced, drugged and raped, and for women who believed they were willing but now realize that they were subjugated and used sexually and then discarded by these lamas.

Holy Spirit has guided me to release this purification and forgiveness prayer so that it may be a blessing to those women who had been cursed and harmed by Tibetan lamas, and I pray that you, the beloved daughters of our Heavenly Father, receive divine deliverance from the harm. We pray that healing may begin.

Our Heavenly Father has heard your cry, and He has asked me to pray for you, so that you may be set free from this bondage. Yeshua, the true Messiah, loves you.

Release and Protection from Perversion, Lust and Sexual Subjugation

Yeshua Ha Mashiac, You are the only one who can heal the intimate wound of spiritual sexual subjugation, for only You know how deep this wound is. I ask You, in Your mercy, that you come to all of the women in agreement with this prayer, and You wash them with the cleansing of Your blood, that they may be free from the guilt, the shame, and the condemnation that they have walked in as sin because of being chosen as a consort for tantric sex practices to Tibetan Lamaist practitioners.

Help them, please, I cry to You, they need You to bring Your healing anointing to their wounds, to the wounds of their hearts, minds, souls, spirits and bodies. I ask you to restore them, in Your perfect health, I ask you to apply Your healing balm over these intimate wounds, that they may be made whole again and serve you in sexual purity.

In Yeshua’s name, Father, I proclaim this day to be the day of the washing of sin from their lives, and the severing of all unhealthy sexual and immoral soul ties from people who have harmed them sexually and spiritually. Help them with their unforgiveness, toward themselves and toward those who hurt them, that they may be free from the harm caused by sexual sin and immorality, whether they were willing or unwilling participants in tantric sex practices with Tibetan Lamaist practitioners. Forgive them for being deceived by Tibetan Lamaists, and for believing that because they were chosen to be tantric sex partners they would receive higher spiritual attainment, and prominent places in the power structure of these ungodly religions.

Father, in the Name of Yeshua Ha Mashiac, I now confess and repent, renounce and resist these sins, and release those in agreement with this prayer from believing the lies of the Tibetan lamas, and for seeking spiritual gifts and powers from them that they should only seek and receive from You, Father. And they receive Your forgiveness now, and the washing in the blood that Yeshua sacrificed for them, for the redemption of these sins.

Everyone in agreement with this prayer now receives Your forgiveness and they are now washed by the blood of Yeshua, cleansed of all filthiness and idols by the sprinkling of clean waters, purified with Your fire, sanctified in truth, for Your word is truth, they are healed, made whole and restored by Yahuwah.

Everyone in agreement with this prayer now turns their backs on the Tibetan lamas and lamaseries, they renounce and break every ungodly soul tie, every ungodly covenant and vow, agreement, or contract that was made in the spirit or in the natural, through contact with the Tibetan lamas, and I declare and decree every ungodly soul tie, every ungodly covenant and vow, agreement, or contract that was made in the spirit or in the natural, through contact with the Tibetan lamas are irrevocably broken off of everyone in agreement with this prayer, by the power and the authority in the name of Yeshua Ha Mashiac, the name that is above all names, not just in this time, but for all times to come.

They walk away from all Tibetan lamas, Tibetan Lamaism and all their idols, right now, henceforth and even forever more. I renounce all of it, on their behalf, in Yeshua’s name. I confess and repent for any sins that everyone in agreement with this prayer has committed, or that their parents or ancestors committed, that may have opened the door to idolatry, immorality and sexual sin, to operate in their lives. I ask You to now close these doors permanently, and seal them, henceforth and even forevermore, with the blood of Yeshua.

Claim the authority God gave us

On behalf of everyone in agreement with this prayer, dear Heavenly Father, I stand upon the promises in your Word in Ephesians 1:3-4 that says, ’Praise be to Yahuwah, the Father of our savior Yeshua Ha Mashiac, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Yeshua. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world, to be holy and blameless in His sight,’ and so we are now sitting in heavenly places in Yeshua Christ, far above all principalities, power, might, dominion of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places, the karmic law, the lamas and the lamaseries, and all the strongholds that Satan had set up over their lives, the strongholds of spiritual bondage, sexual subjugation, guilt, shame, self-condemnation, self-destruction, fear, doubt, unbelief, lust, perversion and immorality, in every plane of existence that has access to them. And I exercise my superior power, authority and dominion over all principalities, power, might, spiritual wickedness in high places, dominion of the darkness of this world and all these strongholds that Satan had set up over their lives, in every plane of existence that had access to them.

Divine and Eternal Protection

In the name of Yeshua Ha Mashiac, (the name that is above all names, at His name every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear and declare you the King of Kings) I ask You to please send legions of Your warrior angels to surround and encamp around everyone in agreement with this prayer, their homes and their bedrooms, and to please set up Your impenetrable hedges and shields around their minds, bodies, hearts, souls and spirits, above, below and on all sides, with Your warrior angels standing guard, to seal all of this off with the blood of Yeshua from:

  • All attacks of the Lamas and lamaseries,
  • All attacks of the enemies
  • Dream yogas sent by Tibetan lama or lamaist practitioner through thought projections
  • Dream penetrations sent by Tibetan lamas or lamaist practitioners

With the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of Yahuwah, I ask God to cut the Tibetan lamas off, forever, from all access to everyone in agreement with this prayer, and eternally bar the Tibetan lamas from them. There shall be no more perforation or penetration, through the blood of Yeshua Ha Mashiac, right now, henceforth and even forever more.

I ask the Holy Spirit to stand guard over everyone in agreement with this prayer, and I ask Yeshua Ha Mashiac to protect them, right now, henceforth and even forever more, from all forms of thought projection and dream penetration, in all realms, regions, territories, terrains, levels, realities, dimensions, timelines, multi-dimensions, inter-dimensions, extra-dimensions, airwaves, frequencies, galaxies, systems, domains, spheres, stratospheres, hemispheres and atmospheres, in every plane of existence that has access to them.

  • Thus says Yahuwah: Woe to the women who sew magic bands upon all wrists, and make veils for the heads of persons of every stature, in the hunt for souls! Will you hunt down souls belonging to my people and keep your own souls alive? You have profaned me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, putting to death souls who should not die and keeping alive souls who should not live, by your lying to my people, who listen to lies. Therefore, thus says Yahuwah, “Behold, I am against your magic bands by which you hunt lives there as birds and I will tear them from your arms; and I will let them go, even those lives whom you hunt as birds. I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power. Then you will know that I am Yahuwah.  Ezekiel 13:18-21

I now apply the blood of Yeshua Ha Mashiac over and against all of the strongholds of the four siddhis (attainments) of pacification, subjugation, increase and wrath, and dream yogas (thought projections and dream penetrations), in all realms, regions, territories, terrains, levels, realities, dimensions, timelines, multi-dimensions, inter-dimensions, extra-dimensions, airwaves, frequencies, galaxies, systems, domains, spheres, stratospheres, hemispheres and atmospheres, in every plane of existence that has access to everyone in agreement with this prayer.

I declare and decree that all of the strongholds of these siddhis and dream yogas are irreparably broken and destroyed, for it is written, ‘The reason the Son of Yahuwah appeared was to destroy the devil’s works.’ 1 John 3:8.

  • And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing. Isaiah 10:27

I declare and decree on behalf of everyone in agreement with this prayer that they now receive the victory Yeshua won for us, on the cross, for everything I have prayed for in this prayer.

I declare and decree that the Tibetan lamas, their lamaseries and their ritual magic, are now and forever harmless to attach to or affect anyone within the sound of my voice. No siddhi, no pacification weapon, subjugation weapon, increase weapon, wrath weapon, dream yoga weapon, thought projection or dream penetration weapon formed against them shall prosper, according to the promises in Your Word, in Isaiah 54:17, that states, ‘no weapon formed against you shall prosper.’

On behalf of everyone in agreement with this prayer, I ask Yahuwah to forgive every person who has ever hurt them, disappointed them, abandoned them, mistreated them, or rejected them, in the Name of Yeshua Ha Mashiac. And I ask everyone who has been hurt by Tibetan lamas and their defenders to forgive them.

Father, I ask You to forgive the sins of all individuals being used by Satan to combat everyone in agreement with this prayer.

Father, I ask You to forgive the sins of all of the ancestors of the Tibetan and Western lamas, going back 60 generations on both sides of their families, mothers sides and fathers sides, and I plead the Blood of Yeshua Ha Mashiac over their bloodlines all the way to the DNA level, which has permanently broken the power of iniquity.

Yahuwah, thank you that you have now permanently broken all of their occult power to the highest levels, making it impossible for them to be used by the kingdom of darkness to harm anyone anymore.

I ask You to save their souls, deliver and heal them. I apply the Blood of Yeshua over every action and every word spoken against everyone in agreement with this prayer, permanently nullifying the demonic power.

I command any evil spirits sent on assignment against everyone in agreement with this prayer to return to the place they were sent from.

I bind these spirits from harming those that sent them, and I pray that their defeat in their mission serves as a testimony of Your greatness, and the victory that Yeshua won for believers, in Yeshua’s Name.

  • Father, I ask You to remove the DNA of everyone in agreement with this prayer from any hair, blood or any other contact object in the hands of the lamas, the lamaseries, and Satan, and break all conduits to all parts of them, from their minds, their hearts, their physical bodies, their souls, their spirits, their lives, their natural lives, their spiritual lives and their prayer lives, in Yeshua’s Name.

Everyone in agreement with this prayer now receives the full divine protection of our Heavenly Father, Yeshua Ha Mashiac, and the Holy Spirit. All parts of everyone in agreement with this prayer, their minds, their hearts, their physical bodies, their souls, their spirits, their lives, their natural lives, their spiritual lives and their prayer lives are now fully and divinely protected, henceforth and even forever more.

  • Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.  1 John 4:4
  • “Come now, let us settle the matter,” says Yahuwah. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”  Isaiah 1:18

I thank you, Father, that you have cleansed everyone in agreement with this prayer, and forgiven them of all of these sins, healed them of all diseases, removed these sins from them as far as the east is from the west. You remember their sins no more again forever.

They are now free, for whom the Son sets free, is free indeed, and they claim their freedom now.

Everyone in agreement with this prayer now has full faith and trust that they are now covered in a cloud of glory, they are well covered, protected, defended and delivered by the power that is in the blood of Yeshua and the eternal fire of God, surrounded by impenetrable hedges and shields, by this anointing, henceforth and even forever more.

We declare and decree that the power of Satanic ritual abuse is destroyed from off of everyone in agreement with this prayer, now and forever.

The abuse and rottenness of Tibetan ‘Buddhism’ is system-wide and rooted deeply

Tibetan ‘Buddhism’ (Lamaism) is a mind-control cult. It is a sociopathic ‘religion.’ The abuse and rottenness is system-wide, rooted deeply in the sacerdotal Tibetan Lamaism which long ago incorporated aspects of Bön (the indigenous animistic/shamanic religion of the region of Tibet), Buddhism, Hinduism, ritual magic, black magic, sorcery and witchcraft. Lamas of all lineages engage in this abusive behavior.

This blog post debunks the victim blaming, including self-blame, guilt and shame, of the women and men who are revealing the mental, physical, sexual and spiritual abuse they suffered at the hands of Tibetan lamas. Some even call it cultic brainwashing, from a sociopathic ‘religion’.

Many more people, mostly women, are now coming forth about the abuse they have experienced, for decades sometimes, by the Tibetan lamas who were/are their teachers. Mental, physical and sexual abuse, rape even, of the vulnerable, of those who trusted these men. The Tibetan lamas Sogyal ‘Rinpoche’ and ‘Sakyong Mipham’ are only the most well-known.

There are so many more that have not been exposed yet.

But the floodgates have burst open, and the truth is now being told, more and more abusive lamas are being named, and the victims are now believed.

Previously, those few women brave enough to tell their stories were mocked, shamed, had their lives threatened, were accused of having weak minds, misunderstanding the ‘higher’ teachings, and even of being insane.

The lamas had circled the wagons, and they’ve had their lackey Western students give teachings (Pema Chodron for one) and write books attacking the women, they very kindly explain to us the horrors awaiting those who turn against their teacher, of ‘breaking samaya’ to the ‘beloved’ self-proclaimed ‘god-king’ who has only the most compassionate, enlightened love for his students. These dissemblers proclaimed loudly that anything and everything the men in crimson robes do is for the benefit of their students, and as an extension, for all sentient beings. Recent defenses, by Tibetan lamas, of the criminal activity of Tibetan lamas includes that they are above the laws of the countries which have altruistically taken them in, even if they commit murder they should not pay the consequences in courts of law.

Samaya is a supposed “bond of loyalty”, and a key tenet of Tibetan Lamaism. Students are taught that breaking samaya with your teacher will subject them to lifetimes of horrific torture in the hell realm, with no hope of ever attaining rebirth in a higher realm.

What would convince sensible Western men and women to take a vow of unbreakable loyalty to a Tibetan lama, which is supposed to bind you forever to him or her, and agree to serve this person for all of their (supposed billions of) reincarnated ‘lifetimes’ as a subservient student? And accept that the abuse they receive – physical, sexual, psychological and spiritual – is doled out to them by self-appointed ‘god-kings’ to help them reach enlightenment (but only after those billions of reincarnations!) And that they should rejoice that they have this rare and precious opportunity to be horrifically abused by Tibetans?

The truth is their false ‘Buddhism’ has very little in common with the Buddhism of Siddhārtha Gautama. Buddha certainly didn’t teach his followers to worship demons, or ‘god-kings’, in fact idolatry and sacerdotalism was expressly condemned by Buddha.

Why do many victims, who find the strength to leave, accept the lie that they are to blame for the treatment they received but do not understand that it is Vajrayana itself that is rotten? Many still embrace what they believe is Buddhism, which they learned from Tibetan teachings, and they do not denounce Tibetan Lamaism, they still accept the tenets and possibly still chant the mantras and do the (mind-bending) rituals of Vajrayana.

Tibetan Lamaism is like an apple that looks beautiful, fresh and desirable, but is unexpectedly, and forever, rotten at the core.

And why aren’t people comfortable discussing the truth of what the Lamaists are doing to get their victims compliant, techniques of mind-control, flattery then shaming, thought-and-emotion projections?

Tibetan Lamaists use mind control and ritual magic. Yes, magic, and it is, in fact, black magic. But pragmatic Westerners, even after long years of practicing the rituals taught to them by the lamaists, do not believe that the rituals actually do anything that impacts and changes matter in space and time, instead they believe that the rituals are intended for the individuals to ‘develop their minds,’ ‘cultivate compassion,’ ‘meditate towards enlightenment,’ ‘purify their karma,’ and joyfully serve ‘holy men.’ This is what the public is told, also, about the benefits of practicing Vajrayana Lamaism.

While the stories are being reported, worldwide now, of the criminal activities of Sogyal ‘Rinpoche,’ ‘Sakyong Mipham,’ and a few others, very few people are attributing the abusive nature of these ‘god-kings’ (Sakyong, surprise!, means ‘king’), to Vajrayana ‘Buddhism’ itself, the myth that these are a ‘few bad apples’ who are corrupting the ‘pure’ teachings of Tibetan ‘Buddhism’.

But the problems in Lamaism are so much deeper than a few predatory men in crimson robes acting inappropriately. It is system-wide, rooted deeply in the sacerdotal Tibetan Lamaism which long ago incorporated aspects of Bön (the indigenous animistic/shamanic religion of the region of Tibet), Buddhism, Hinduism, ritual magic, black magic, sorcery and witchcraft. Don’t be fooled by their robes and deceptively gentle manner, Lamas of all lineages engage in this abusive behavior. And it is a myth that the lamas are monks, and therefore celibate, this a useful tool for subterfuge, a deception that allows the public to disbelieve the truth that Tibetan lamas prey upon the women around them.

A recent tweet by @SogyalTruth: “There are reports of rape in multiple countries – by which I mean women saying, “I was raped”. Over 90% of reported rapes are “unproven” in the legal sense. Most rape goes unreported. That does not mean the rapes didn’t happen.”
Unbelievably, Mary Finnegan, an author and former journalist, Mary Finnigan‏ @FinniganMary Jul 26 responded: “Be careful re rape accusations. Not proven. Mostly consensual sex with coercion as factor in some instances.”
I responded to Mary’s tweet: How would you know these were ‘consensual’? Were you a witness to all the rapes you are claiming were consensual? 1000s? – #ConeBeckham said he wanted evidence proving @KaluRinpocheLA was raped repeatedly as a child by his teachers #Really?? 4 siddhis.
And: Confessions of Kalu Rinpoche – As a child raped repeatedly by his teachers. Not consensual. Now, if Tibetan lamas feel free to violate a young man in their charge (& it is common in monasteries) why do you believe that these Western women are willing participants?

For those of you who were fortunate enough to leave Vajrayana lamaism, and for those who are still ensnared (but reading this!), and for the general public who attended some empowerments, what did you think you were participating in? How did the:

chanting millions of mantras
meditate for hours, days, months, years
visualizing complex dimensions replete with demons
sleep deprivation at events and retreats
participating in the many pujas (rituals) that are in a foreign language, with warlike ritual items
consuming of dutsi, tsok, tormas and wine in skull cups (human and otherwise)

change your brain, change your belief systems, make you do things you later realized were immoral and unethical, and believe their lies?

The consumables: dutsi, tsok, torma (handshaped buckwheat meal offerings), milk tea, can be made of many things, and are. Dutsi are sometimes made with the spittle, urine or feces of ‘highly realized beings (humans)’ as ‘blessings’ for those consuming them. It is also very possible these items include psychotropics as well.

Tibetan medicine (herbal pharmacology) has a history of more than 2500 years, and is distinct from traditional Chinese medicine. The herbal pharmacology of Tibet, as in China, has always included poisonous plants, as the toxins in these plants were found to have pain-relieving and healing properties. But these poisons were also used by Tibetan clergy to get rid of political and spiritual foes.
The shamans of early Tibet were of the Bön tradition, and they mixed Bön shamanic ritual with medicine to heal people. But those Bön shamans, and later the ‘Lamaist’ clergy, also became proficient in Tibetan ethnobotany and knew all of the toxic effects on the brain and body of the poisonous plants; how much of each poison would result in short-term afflictions, long-term afflictions and death.
The untimely deaths of the Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Dalai Lamas are widely attributed to poisoning. A disgruntled regent of the Thirteenth Dalai Lama, Norbu Tsering, was said to have enlisted the sorcerer Nyagtrül in an attempt to assassinate this Dalai Lama.

Thought and Emotion Projection for Manipulation is Real

No longer in the realm of science fiction, fantasy or imagination, influencing others through thought and emotion projection has been confirmed by physicists and scientists.

Niels Bohr, University of Copenhagen physicist and Nobel Prize winner, confirmed that matter is like a beam of light. Physicist Louis de Broglie, another Nobel Prize winner and author of de Broglie hypothesis, demonstrated that all matter is electromagnetic fields/wave of energy. Thoughts and emotions are waves of electromagnetic energy, and when directed at a target (person/persons to control) are effective ways to manipulate and control vulnerable minds. Add in the hypnotic music played live during the rituals, the chanting of thousands of mantras in a foreign language, meditation (quieting the mind) led by the lamas, heavy smoke from incense, and sleep deprivation (in longer ceremonies and retreats), it’s no wonder people become brainwashed.

It is NOT about the Westerners consenting to what the lamas want from them, and then later regretting their actions and claiming they were victimized. Those who understand mind control cults will see exactly why these people get ensnared, and do things that in their right minds they would never consider doing.

Although many people will struggle to understand this, we are targeted by these lamas, we are seen as resources, and they use their mind control techniques to get what they want from us, they pacify us, and then subjugate us, and keep us or discard us, at their whim.

And they do their lamaist rituals that send their dark intentions into time and space to harm those they perceive as their enemies, students who have left, fellow lamas, politicians, academics, in fact anyone and everything they claim are ‘dharma destroyers.’

What do the lamaists want? Hidden beneath their message of compassion, altruism, world peace, and working for the benefit of all sentient beings, is their overwhelming desire for money, sex, land, and influence. And especially from women, because it is the Tantra sex that they crave on their twisted path to (false) enlightenment. Many, many Tibetan lamas are involved in Tantra sex, with their female followers. Some lamas prefer underage girls. And Tantra, although from Hinduism, is the foundation of Tibetan Lamaism.

How much money, over the decades, have Westerners ‘donated’ – mostly cash – to Tibetan lamas? Billions.

The reality of the Four Siddhis

What is the process the lamaists use to accomplish their goals? Let’s discuss the four siddhis of Tibetan Lamaism, shall we?

Because Westerners are pragmatic, reasonable, compassionate, altruistic people, their thoughts and emotions must be manipulated in order to accept the twisted teachings of the false sociopathic ‘religion’ of Tibetan Lamaism. First lie to be believed is that Tibetan Lamaism is Buddhism. It is not. In fact, there is really very little in Lamaism that can be described as Buddhism.

The foundation of all Tibetan Buddhist rituals are the four siddhis (attainments), which are:

‘Pacification’ (for perceived enemies and to control their deities)
‘Subjugation’ (for perceived enemies, deities, hungry ghosts, etc.)
‘Increase’ (for their powers and reach)
‘Wrath’ (destruction and death)

These siddhis have outer, inner, secret, hidden, buried, concealed and most secret aspects to them. And all Vajrayana mantras have seed syllables, and each syllable has its own signature color, sound, element and function:

Om, white, element, pacifying, pituitary gland
Ah, red, fire, subjugating
Hung, Black and blue, water, wrath
Ma, green, action
Ni, Yellow, earth, increase

When the syllables are chanted, these sounds create the energy and function to manifest in the physical realm for the intended outcomes. The ‘seeds’ of the seed syllables are intended to take root where they are sent. Mantras can be short, three syllables, or very long, hundreds of syllables.

Pacification is the action of reducing to a submissive state
Subjugation is the action of bringing someone or something under domination or control
Increase is to become progressively greater (as in size, amount, number, or intensity)
Wrath is the destruction of all that the lamaists consider threatening to them

The control of a student, or a target, starts from the very first meeting. Thought projection. Smile (certain smiles are mind control techniques). Handshake (also used to manipulate the target). Presumed intimacy, making subject feel special and above the rest of the sangha (group of students), and above the unenlightened public. Being told that finding Vajrayana Buddhism and studying under a Tibetan lama is a rare and special privilege, so you have the ‘good karma’ necessary for this, you must have been their student in a previous life.

The lamaists use cognitive dissonance very professionally. After praise and attention, a carefully constructed negative remark made by the lama, and you go into a panic, “What did I do wrong? What did I say wrong? I must examine myself, my thoughts, my actions, my words, everything I’ve done must have been wrong, if ‘my lama’ criticized me! But he only has my highest good in his mind at all times, so I am at fault.”

We are debunking all the Tibetan lamas and Tibetan Lamaism.

How many people have said, “I have important work to do with the Tibetans.”? How many people have heard others say this? It is a thought-projection by a lama, or someone being used by the lamas, to influence others.

I would ask you to examine very carefully your thoughts, beliefs and opinions. Are they truly yours, or were they planted in your mind from external sources?

The floodgates have opened, and can not be shut! ‘Chogyam Trungpa, Cocaine and Polygamy’

An anguished, shocking letter written by Leslie Hays, a woman ensnared by Chogyam Trungpa into his ‘Sangyum’ (harem):

Tabi: Trigger warning–this is not a nice, devotional story about CTR.
The first time I met ‘His Majesty’ Chögyam Trungpa Rincophe was at encampment in the late summer of 1983. I was attending a dathün (month long sitting practice) at Rocky Mountain Dharma Center. This retreat is supposed to be mostly silent, but I was never good at holding my tongue. During the retreat, some of my new friends and I plotted a raid on encampment, which was a military-style program that was simultaneously happening on the land. We decided to raid encampment and attempt to steal the flag. Our plan was simple: we could create a diversion and while the attention was on us, our cohorts would sneak around the perimeter and steal the flag. Three of us drove through the tori gates in a convertible blaring Michael Jackson’s Beat It while the rest tried to sneak around and steal the flag. We were all immediately caught and locked up in the stockade. CTR came by that night to check out the prisoners. I noticed that he flirted shamefully with all the women/girls who were in the lock-up and totally and completely ignored me.
But I really met CTR in the backyard wedding of sangha members in Boulder in late January of 1985. I had been prepped by the family I nannied for for weeks in advance of the wedding. It appeared to work because I caught CTR’s eye and he asked me to marry him the next day. Then there was so much activity! We had our charts read by Larry Laughlin who found the most “auspicious” day for our wedding. Given the tremendous constraints of marrying six women in a five months, there was some wiggle room with the dates. The first wedding I attended was Karen Lavin’s. Next was Valerie Lorig Sanford, which happened on May 10th. Then Lady Cynde Grieves married him on May 13, Wendy Friedman was on May 17th, I was the fifth on June 12th, Ciel followed on her 18th brithday, and then Agness had her wedding in December of 1985.
There was so much to be done–especially for me as a new student who only completed through level four Shambhala training. I received stroke, lungta and werma transmission. I read Born in Tibet, and studied the Letter of the Golden Key Which fulfills desire, The Golden Dot, The Letter of the Black Ashe, Sacred World, the Practice of Warriorship, and Court Vision and Practice. I was on the fast track to learning and absorbing everything he’d ever created. I studied the texts themselves as well as the commentaries. Our ceremonies required correctly answering a direct question from CTR and the preceptor, who in my case was the regent. (Mine was the only ceremony with him as the preceptor–people said I should be honored–but I was not.) We were told to study the Six Ways of Ruling in particular, as it was rumored this would be one of the questions.
When I wasn’t with CTR, I was completing my tasks as a nanny. And I was introduced to the Shambhala lodge with a party in my honor. I attended Karen, Cynde, Wendy and Valerie’s ceremonies prior to mine. These all happened at the court in Boulder. We had dinners together where we were taught elocution by both Ashley Playfair and Carolyn Gimian. We had one dinner with CTR and the five of us Sangyum (Karen, Cynde, Wendy, Val and I), where we were served white fish with bones in it, green peas and white rice, and copious amounts of sake. We were learning how to eat like the British–holding our fork upside down in our left hand and our knife in the right to shovel the food onto the fork, not an easy task with that meal. During meals we usually played the qualities game, a parlor game CTR enjoyed.
One day I arrived at the court for a shift and I was told I was to receive another transmission from Marty Janowitz. I assumed this was to be like the others, perhaps he was giving me TGS transmission early. Marty told me this transmission was extremely sacred and was only known to a few close students. He then pulled out a vial filled with a white powdery substance. Marty told me it was ground up vitamin D or something. (I really can’t remember exactly what he said it was). He put a bit of it on the spoon and told me to rub it on my gums, which I did. It was not cocaine. It was part of our job description to always carry a vial of “Tabi” which was the code name for cocaine. Due to his paralysis, CTR only had the use of one hand, so when he called for tabi it was our job to go into the bathroom with him, keep him steady, help him get his penis out before he wet his pants and put the coke on a spoon for him to inhale. It was also our job to keep his nose clean, and as you can tell from the picture, we were not always successful. Later, when I went to the bathroom alone, I put some on my gums. It was definitely cocaine.
This is another secret I have kept for over 30 years. I can no longer keep it. I believe it is not of benefit to anyone to keep this secret anymore. I believe it’s important for the followers of Shambhala to know what really happened in the “inner circle” of the court. We all–every one of us–didn’t know how to say “no” to CTR. We were so busy tripping over each other to do his bidding that we never questioned why an enlightened mediation master would need copious amounts of cocaine and alcohol every day. We never questioned why he spoke of every woman or young girl in sexual terms. It was supposed to be a great honor to sleep with him. No one wondered if his sexual appetite for his female students might be unhealthy.
I started wondering about it shortly after Ciel’s suicide. Could this sexualized idea of women be unhealthy? Could this lack of boundaries eventually result in rage and self-hatred? Why did I think marrying a man with seven other wives, a serious drug addiction, alcoholism and suicidal tendencies shown as severe bulimia would be a good idea? I was 23 and vulnerable. And I said yes. Yes, I will do this strange thing. It was only later when I learned of power differentials and feminism that I truly understood how totally wrong it all was. And now I am triggered by all things Tibetan. I will never enter Karma Dzong again. It’s too painful to see the hero worship and the enshrinement of this deeply disturbed man. And for those of you who might have spent a few nights with him or more and feel they knew all there was to know about him, I ask you to dig deeper. And for those of you who never met him yet still follow his teachings, you might want to ask hard questions of those in the know.
The most shocking thing for me through this whole process of sharing my truth is the sheer number of people who are lying now, and denying that sexualized violence has a negative effect on women. This continued minimization of the real, undeniable scars that are left from sexual assault and harassment is shocking. In a letter published Friday, the entire Kalapa Council, the highest leadership body in the Shambhala Buddhist community, resigned their positions. The letter reads:

Dear Shambhalians,

In the interest of beginning a healing process for our community, the Kalapa Councillors will step down from our posts.

In this time of groundlessness, there is a wish for more clarity and answers, but the truth is that much is unknown. We recognize that parts of our system are broken, and need to dissolve in order to make room for real change.

It is our desire to exit responsibly. There will be a phased departure so that there is a board in place to uphold the legal and financial responsibilities of the organization. Advisors in transitioning leadership groups are assisting Shambhala in planning how to structure and communicate this progression. We are also reading and listening to all of the feedback that you are sharing.  We will share more details soon as we integrate advice and learn more.

Additionally, we want to formally announce several developments that have been confirmed in the last few days.

  • The agreement with An Olive Branch has been signed. They will bring their expertise to serve as a neutral party for receiving stories of harm, survivor advocacy and consulting on our policies going forward. An Olive Branch will also personally introduce themselves to you, the Shambhala community, shortly.
  • We have engaged Wickwire Holm, a law firm based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to act as the third-party investigator to look into stories of abuse or misconduct involving any teacher or leader in the Shambhala community.

We will offer more details on both of these processes very soon. We are committed to communicating regularly and transparently with the community as new information or updates develop.

Despite this groundless situation, we believe that this community has a path forward from which Shambhala can emerge as a healthier, more supportive, and more inclusive sangha.

With the exception of Reichner and Schönherr, the signees are also directors of the Shambhala Canada Society, the registered society that runs Shambhala affairs in Canada. The letter does not say if the signees also resigned from the Society.

Josh Silberstein uses a Boulder, Colorado address. Jane Arthur, who is described in corporate papers as the “Minister of Shambhala Governance,” uses a Danville, Vermont address. Mitchell Levy is from Providence, Rhode Island. Adam Lobel is from Pittsburgh. The other signees are in Halifax. The best known is probably Wendy Friedman, owner of Biscuit General Store.

“Meanwhile, Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, has announced that its board of directors has asked Sakyong Mipham to step down from his positions as Naropa Lineage Holder and non-voting board member, and that he has submitted his resignations,” reports the Buddhist publication The Lion’s Roar:

The joint announcement by the university’s board chair and president states, “We have reviewed the accounts presented by several women who, at the time of the encounters, were members of Shambhala International, relating abuse that occurred as recently as 2011. We find these stories credible and believable.”

When I look at the allegations against Sakyong Mipham I see abuses of power that are couched in a culture that cultivated and excused it. And I suspect that abuse of power is probably not limited to sexual abuse. I’m particularly interested in the financial side of Shambhala.

The income flow of the Shambhala community was explained in this chart, published by Barbara Blouin in the renegade Radio Free Shambhala in 2009:

Parallel to that complex money flow is the Skayong Ladrang Canada, which has recently changed its name to the Skayong Potrang Canada. The directors of the Landrang (and now the Potrang) are Jeff Rosen, Joshua Silberstein, Tseyang Mukpo, Mipham Mukpo, and Landon Mallery. With the exception of Siberstein, all are Halifax-area residents.

 “Formally, the Sakyong Ladrang is a non-profit organization, a 501-C3, and its primary purpose is to protect and support the Sakyong lineage,” Suter Dubose, “councilor” of the Sakyong Ladrang, told an interviewer in 2009. “The reason is fairly obvious; without the Sakyong lineage, there is not a Shambhala lineage extending into the future past a generation or two. In addition, the Ladrang protects the relics and the assets of the Sakyong lineage.”

In practice, I’m told by people with knowledge of the organization, the Landrang/Potrang is funded by gifts from the Shambhala community, and the funds are entirely unaccounted for.

Many people are now trying to untangle the financial relationships of the various Shambhala organizations with Sakyong Mipham. As well, there’s an attempt to better understand who owns what property — some of the Colorado property appears to be owned by Sakyong Mipham outright, and I am searching property records in Nova Scotia.

You’ll see from the chart above that some of the revenue for the central Shambhala organization comes from the many Shambhala Centers around the world, and particularly in the United States. At least one of those centers is now in open revolt; the San Diego Shambhala Center announced last week:

– On Sunday, July 1, the following announcement was made and posted at the center: “Effective immediately, all donations made to the San Diego Shambhala Meditation Center will remain at the local center. Transfers of monetary support to Shambhala International are suspended until further notice. Donations made to the San Diego Center go towards our operating expenses of rent, utilities, Internet access, and insurance.”

– As of Sunday, July 1, at the request of members, the opening chants at public sitting will not contain the Supplication to the Shambhala Lineage or the Homage.

– On Saturday, July 7 we will host a community meeting at the main Center with Shastri Ruth Wallen and Shastri Marcy Fink at 7:30 p.m. More details will be available in the weekly announcements and the website, sandiego.shambhala.org

– The Encinitas Wednesday book discussion will replace the current selection by Sakyong Mipham with “The Road Home,” by Ethan Nichtern.

– Printed copies of both Project Sunshine Reports as well as the most relevant email communications are available at the center for anyone who wants to read them there.

– There has been a request to remove the photos of the Sakyong and possibly also of Chogyam Trungpa from the main meditation hall and the community room. We are continuing to receive community feedback on this. Please let us know if you have a comment or opinion to share.

Of particular interest to me is whether the various Shambhala organizations have been violating tax laws. The Ladrang, for example, says on its provincial registry that it is a “church,” and yet the money raised appears to benefit only one person —  Sakyong Mipham, and I suppose his family. And the Shambhala Canada Society was previously registered as the Vajradhatu Buddhist Church; I don’t know why the name was changed. It appears that licensing or other fees collected from the Shambhala centers are run through Shambhala International, but I don’t know if that income is declared as business income or of a charitable nature.
